Jezibell moved to Augusta, GA at the end of 2007 from Manhattan, where she danced at clubs, parties, restaurants, festivals, and special events throughout the New York area. Her specialty is classic cabaret belly dance, but she also performs alternative and fusion styles along with Goddess and ritual dance. She has performed with the Egyptian/American Folkloric Group, the Serena Dance Theatre, Gamila el Masri's Nileside Dancers, Nadia Moussa and Company, and PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment). Jezibell has appeared at Lincoln Center Outdoors, the Knitting Factory, the New York Renaissance Faire, Figaro Café, and the Centerfold Coffeehouse. She performed her "Dances of the Goddess" each year at the New York Witches’ Ball Charity Benefit. Her specialties include double veil, candles, sword, and wings. In Augusta she has performed at the Southern Oasis Gala, the Gathering of the Tribes festival, the Rock 'n' for the River concert, and Georgia on My Mind Day, and she was a regular at First Friday in 2008. She has presented three solo shows at the Friedman Library, Tribute to Ancient Egypt, which was covered by the Augusta Chronicle - http:/chronicle.augusta.com/stories/060508/ric_461021.shtml/ as well as Cabaret Belly Dance: The Art of the Soloist and Cabaret Macabre. She also performed at Arts in the Heart of Augusta in September. In November 2008 she formed Eastern Star Dance Theatre with Zahara Ahlam, Aria Dantir, Jaden Milan and Jackie O, who all have extensive dance backgrounds. Eastern Star's premiere performance was with the Vagina Monologues at Augusta State University's Maxwell Theatre, and Eastern Star has since performed at the Friedman Library, Arts Fest, Art in the Park and The Israel Experience at the Jewish Community Center. Jezibell began teaching belly dance at Serena Studios in 1996 and has also taught at Equinox Fitness Club, the McBurney and Vanderbilt YMCAs, the Learning Annex, LaGuardia Community College, and the Bridge for Dance. She is also a writer, drummer, and songwriter. The insights and imagery of her poetry and scripts flow out of her spiritual life, her dance, and her studies of ancient history, culture and mythology, especially of Egypt, Mesopotamia and Greece. She has combined her dance with poetry, songs, and monologues to create dramatic presentations, and she wrote and performed in an original musical theatre production, Inanna, Journey of Darkness and Light. She drummed and danced in Ankhst at the New York Fringe Festival and performed with PURE in Up In the Air with Akim Funk Buddha at the Brooklyn Arts Council.
